You dont have to ONLY have friends at your school. Make a nice balance. Be outgoing and make friends different from yourself but then make a group of friends that are closer to you culturally. |

Everybody says "be yourself". That depends on whether or not you actually know who you are. School is full of conformity - you either conform by conforming or conform by not conforming (goths, punks, stoners). This is your time to experiment with who you are, to try new things. You are changing yourself every day - dropping old ideas and picking up new ones, adopting new habits, likes, and dislikes. I'm not suggesting you do things you feel are wrong, or illegal, or just plain lame, but be willing to learn from other people, try to see from their point of view, be dynamic and fully present in your life. If you are confident and kind, people will be drawn to you. It just might take some time for them to get to know you. Good luck. |

treat everyone the way u want to be treated. if someone doesnt like u for who you are or because of who you are then thier not worth your precious time.
im asian and i had the oppurtunuty to discover different race, cultures etc. i admit that there were people who probably didnt like asians/minorities but i never let it bother me because in order for me to be true to myself, then i would have to be me and just treat people the way that i would want to be treated. fortunately, i am blessed w/ alot of friends from all over the world.
i am truly grateful that the lord made me the way that he wanted to make me. i dont focus on negative thoughts or what others are saying about me, instead i focus on what i have and i make the best of it. life is too short...enjoy it.
