"Age doesn't matter" is a rationalization people make in order to do something they already want to do. The fact of the matter is that age certainly DOES matter at certain stages of your life. While the above 19 year old in the answer above is dating someone nine years older, she certainly (well, it is to be hoped anyway) would not date someone nine years younger.
Since we don't know the relative ages of you and the guy, we can't be certain of the situation. You sound young, and the one thing we know for sure is that he's embarassed to tell his friends your true age.
The most likely scenario that fits here is that you are between 13 and 15 years old, and if this is true, he's WAY too old for you. Like "jail" too old. I'm sure he's probably quite attracted to you, but this will end badly if he doesn't come to his senses. "Sex offender" is not a tag anyone wants attached to them for the rest of their lives, and most stories that begin "He was 24 and I was 14..." end up on the police blotter rather than in a collection of great love stories. |

But back to you you need to make sure that he's comfortable with say that your ten years younger because soon people will find out. Don't be ashamed of it. |

The older you are, the less it matters. But if he's introducing you as only 2 years younger, you might want to think about it. I'm not saying Don't go out with him or whatever, just maybe ask him why he does that and how he feels about the difference. |
