I have already gone through this with my dad. My mom and my brothers were all around his bedside. We told Dad how much we loved him, what a wonderful dad he was to us and we didn't want him to be in pain anymore and that it was all right to go to Heaven. He died then and a light appeared at the top of my dad's head. My brother said he saw Jesus standing there. The main thing is not ever to wait until someone dies to tell them your feelings, but rather each day tell your loved one that they are loved and cherished. We did this throughout my dad's life and I never have a conversation with my Mom, husband, or children without telling them how proud I am of them and how much I love them. Leave nothing unsaid for guilt happens when you don't express your feelings. |

The one thing we told my grandma was that it was ok for her to leave us. She was hanging on so hard, afraid that we wouldn't make it without her. She was a Christian, so we knew she was going to be with Jesus in heaven. We spent some time talking about some of our favorite memories. She couldn't speak, but she smiled as she listened. Then we told her we would take care of each other and always look out for one another, and that we would all be seeing her again real soon. She nodded and just closed her eyes. The nurses said it was one of the most peaceful deaths they'd ever seen! |

Mom or Dad, You did a great job raising me to have religion, values, morals and I will never forget you. You will live on in the lives of my children and I will see you in heaven. No more pain or sorrow. I thank you for raising me as I know I gave you a hard time everyonce in a while.
