on your nerves? My boss keeps asking me questions all the time. She's been in the job as long as I have. Basicallly she knows if she asks me I'll tell her the answer and then she won't have to look for herself. It's really winding me up! |

I use to by a assistant manager of a co-op, we had a new manager, and we was as good as a chocolate fire guard, i spent all day doing is work because, he had no idea how to do any of the computer work, and paper work that only a manager should do. I told him several thousand occasions, that i should not be doing this work, but he ignored me and just signed it all off. I took a week off, thinking he would do his own job, 2 days into my holiday he rang me asking me to come in for a day, to do all is paperwork, so i know how you feel.
Eventually i got so sick of him, i had it out with him. I told him he's a lazy f*****g prat, and handed my notice in. I had to hand in a 4 week notice, but for four weeks, I refused to do any paper work, and spent all 4 weeks sat on a till.
So tell your boss, its not your problem, and to f**k off. |

Outside of just telling her you are really busy working and she should look the answer up herself... Tell her you don't know..
Don't let her get to you. However if the problem persists go to her supervisor, but before doing that make sure she knows what she is doing is bothering you. Going over someones head is never a good thing to do, and her supervisor will ask you if you've told her.

tel her she's the boss so she needs to prove it rather than rely on a co-worker for simple things....1) shes your boss so you listen to her...if shes on your nerves, tell her if you are not able to finish your own work on time cos of all this, you are not working over time and she's paying you in full.... |

The next couple times she does that, tell her where she can find the answer, but don't give her the actual answer.
OTOH, if she's your boss, perhaps she is responsible for doing many more duties than you have, and it's part of your job to make things easier for her?
If she's asking the same questions over and over, type up a list of answers or sources and give it to her. Let her know that those are the sources/answers you use, so she won't have to keep asking you. |
