It's possible, but not likely unless the woman gets a little training or is real lucky. It depends on a number of things including but not limited to; where the punch lands, if it is a direct (precise) hit, followed-through with the full force of her weight or if it is a glancing blow or side-swipe. Also, how big is the man and what kind of shape is he in? Then the question of whether or not the woman has the "killer-instinct" necessary to really do some harm (of course, if she is afraid for her safety, welfare or life or that of her children, adrenaline and the "fight instinct" will negate the need for "killer-instinct"). Lastly, know that without some training, a punch of such force could break her hand, or just hurt so bad, that if she DOES NEED to land any more blows, she might not be able to. Get educated - get some training.
PS - I re-read the question, and if "no-choice" means her life is at stake (or again, certainly her children), her chances ARE much improved - but know too there is a big difference between "knocked-DOWN" and "knocked-OUT". |

Not only could she, I have seen it happen.
A friend of mine was quite drunk and very obnoxious, he tries to "hit" on a woman who clearly was not interested, he kept at it and made an obscene comment and gesture, she retaliated by punching him and putting him out cold. He deserved it and it could have been avoided if he had listened to us when we told him to go home. He still has not lived it down. The woman was actually only about 120 lbs and Gary was about 185 lbs. |
