If the company was taken over TUPE legislation you have more rights, but legally you have to take the courses they offer, providing they are paying you for your time. |

This is more complicated. Your employment rights transfer, but you may be asked to sign new terms and conditions. Courses would be a different matter as if you say no then you are not meeting the standards set. |

Unless you are covered by a contract (like a union contract) chances are you employment is "at will". That means you can quit or they can fire you for any reason or no reason. |
