You are paid because what you do is valued...from the person that mops the floor to the doctor that repairs a heart valve...including the teenager that babysits your kids (with responsibility and attention for them) and the little fellow who comes around looking for odd jobs - these are valued services. Remember too, the kind receptionist that looked for an opening when you showed up a day early for your MRI or the garbage man that went into the ditch for your can because he tossed it too hard.
There's the cashier that asked what my gingeroot was - and we had a friendly exchange. The toll taker that had the rest of my change from a 60 cent toll, paid with a $20 bill, because we got to talking the day before.
The retired man that came to chop down a fallen tree at a really cheap rate - did damage to your porch - but you gave him 50 bucks anyway and told him not to worry about the porch...you realized the job was a BEAR!
The county employee that pulls over his big truck to let you pass...
WHAT I DON'T GET IS THE ATHLETE SALARIES!!!! They are playing a game VS teacher who struggle - AND I don't want to hear about SUMMER'S OFF either, they are only paind for their 10 months of work. They have to wait tables or something else during the summer while they get no pay! |

You decide how to earn a living, not "them". If your single with no family responsibilities, you owe nothing to the world if your surviving independently on your own. Whatever makes you happy should be fine as far as the rest of the world is concerned. Do your thing, but unless you survive alone in the wilds of Alaska, you have to live with other people and give and take as necessary to get along with them. |

I've been arguing this point for years!!!! I'm glad someone else out there shares my view. LOL!!! They pay us cause we're suckers and don't have enough sense to start our own companies and pay other suckers to do the work for us and make money off of them. |
