If you disagree with a stores policy, do you take it up with the staff or with the management?
say you were at walmart, and your purchases were being rung through

one of the items was marked on sale, but it rings up regular price

the cashier informs you it's not on sale anymore, the sign had just not been removed yet, she cannot honor the discount

if you decide to fight for the marked price, do you take it up with the cashier, or do you ask for a manager?

Take it up with the management. As soon as you see that a staff member at the bottom rung is just giving you what they are told to say, ask to speak to their manager. To do otherwise, wastes everyone's time and energy. No sense upsetting someone who has no authority to change anything, or upsetting yourself, and looking bad.

You start with the cashier, and then go to customer service. If they can't resolve the situation and you are really adamant about it - ask to speak with the manager.

I would talk to the management because the staff can't do anything but go talk to the management for you. The staff are also just there to sell you stuff and help you buy stuff....ask the management.

U go shop somewhere else.

First of all, stop shopping at Wal-Mart, hate that place. I feel so low everytime I go there (which I haven't done in months). But if you ran into that situation, the manager can authorize selling the item at the advertised price. It's their fault for not properly displaying the true price. But seriously, stop shopping at Wal Mart. For the love of Bob

Ask for a manager I have had this happen to me and they usually take care of it in my favor to keep good with the customer. I even had a case where they rang up some things wrong and the items were less than two dollars and their policy was to just refund the money so I got to keep the items for free. Most people want you to leave happy and satisfied but the cashiers are not always authorized to make the decision so definately ask for a manager or shift leader or whoever can make the decision. (Also dont feel obligated to purchase if they do not give you the sale price)
hope this helps

Manager...the cashier is just there to ring you up.

akristel2003
manager for sure! only jerks take that sort of thing out on the sales clerk, who usually doesn't even have the authority to honor the price.

go to mgmt and start yelling then he will give in since he doesnt want other customers hear you.

The manager. She has to be the one to approve it anyways.

Take it up with a manager or whomever is in charge. A good cashier (very rare in these days of limited customer service skills) will get his/her supervisor imediatly. The supervisor should then find the signage, give you the advertised price, and that should recitfy the situation.

The cashier probably does not have the ability to change the price and lower than it is in the system. These days with all the dishonest peolpe working in the retail industry, (what can you really get for $7.00 and hour?) stores have to put a lot of security measures in place. There have been way to many instances of people "buying" high dollar items and greatly reduced prices.

The customers behind you, may not be happy, but do not let them bully you.
