If you had £5,000, how would you invest it?
Business venture, stocks and shares or savings?

Definately would save it. Thinking of getting a house and moving out of the rented crap i'm living in now.

Hat-A-Tat-Tat!!
a high interest savings account or an isa...stocks & shares are ok...but you can lose on them & i wouldn't be prepared to risk it!

MRRRRRRR KENNEDY
3000 in a Isa

2000 in a fixed tracker stocks and shares program

no risk

tromano89

Pooled investments like investment trusts/unit trusts/ OEICS. They are safer than putting all your money into individual shares and MUCH more lucrative than bonds or deposit/savings accounts if you can invest for 5 years +.

lbaker2656
I would put it in a high interest savings account or my pension.

Probably savings. Is that a 5,000 or 5,000,000?

the answer is very simple:

it's not what you invest, because only way you'd recognize a good investment is when you are good at what you do or good at what you invest into; that means... I'd experiment with £5,000.

However, I'd never try to play it safe, neither play this game as if it's about luck. It's a game where your knowledge can be only source which you could rely making decisions how to win and why?

Why not educate yourself about investing and then doing some experimenting. Sure, you'd face some failures, yet failures are the best opportunity for learning opportunities you could ever have.

because you know what? if you can't make from £5,000... £5,700 or more in a year... you couldn't make from £1,000,000... something like £1,100,000.

That's easy. I'd buy gold bullion and put it away someplace close. Don't buy stocks or real estate, we're headed for a ****storm in the near future.
