If you leave a job, what documents should the employer give to you?

I'm looking for the translation of the word "solde de tout compte", which is a certificate given by the employer stating that the company gives you that amount of money the day you're leaving and that the company won't owe any money after that time.
Don't know wether that is common in UK though

"solde de tout compte" is french.. so the document would have no legal validtity in the UK. assumign you are in the UK, and working in the UK, then you must be given a P45 on leaving, this is to be given to your next employer.
The employer should alos give a clear statement of what is the final payment.. IE idnetfying what amount they are paying you.

If they have failed to do that then go to Citizens Advice.

having just done quick translation on google "solde de tout compte" is THE final statements of account. but then again letters in French have no validity in UK employment law, French law fine, but not here. If you have doubts demand that your employer give you a version of that document in English.

Not here in the UK. They give you a slip of paper called the P45 which states what you have earned to date and how much tax you have paid and the tax code for your next employer. Generally your last wage slip is all the proof that you have received all pay entitled.

In the Uk your employer should give you a form called a P45
The P45 is the reference code of a form titled Details of employee leaving work. It is issued by the employer when an employee leaves. It is a multipart form. The front section, Part 1 is given by the employer to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs , who then record the pay and tax details on to the individuals taxpayer record. Part 1A is to be retained by the employee, Part 2 retained by the new employer, and Part 3 taken by the new employer and sent to their tax office. The P45 contains details of earnings and tax paid during the tax year (tax paid in previous years is detailed on the P60 for that year).

No i'ts not. In U K a P45, which states pay in that employment in year to date also tax and Nh ivsurance paid,

You should get your P.45 and P.60 for your tax purposes.
At least in the UK.
