first if i have any important tasks to complete that can be completed only by money for example, i have to payoff someone's money, some loan then i would do it. then with the rest of money left, i would try to divide the money into 2 equal halves then i w ould spent one half for my family and myself and the other half i will try to spend for someone who's in need of money.

Pay off all debts, buy a nice house and have it professionally decorated, put money aways for my kids' college, buy a fun car, then go on a long vacation. Whatever is left over, I save for retirement.

Move it overseas into a tax haven and keep working. Use about half of the interest for miscellaneous expenses, the other half to grow my assets.

Frankly, 1 million isn't enough to retire on anymore. However, you could do it with 2 million.
