The question of whether this is physical abuse is whether you have permanent physical damage from it, such as scars or lasting welts.
This also has the potential to be somewhat psychologically damaging, so you may want to ask help from a professional. |

well, normally that's because she loves you and care of you. But in your case, u can have a talk to her, in a proper way. settle down and tell her that you don't like her to beat you. hopefully it'll settle your problem. |

Any physical strike on a minor by a parent other than from the buttox to the back of the thighs is considered child abuse and is illegal. I suggest you get in touch with you school guidence councilors |

well for one thing what is your age? and no your mother or father should never do that.I would never think of beating my child.They can whip you but below the waist only.above that is abuse.and yes something can be done about it. |

Hey you!!! I was in the same situation but with my dad. I really don't think that parents should beat their children. I think that they should just talk to them and make them understand the reason for they not wanting you to do something. I can tell you that from my experience, I love my dad a lot, but do not want him to treat me that way any longer. Just like you, I am not allowed to hang out with friends and cousins, but I have tried to hang out at school in extra curricular activities. Although he wouldn't let me do that either for some time, but I convinced him by saying that it was needed for college, which it really is. If your mom actually listens to you, I suggest that you talk to her and tell her how you feel, hopefully things will change for the better. The definitions of abuse tend to vary, as you can probably tell. Contact your local social service agency; hopefully from there you'll get linked to someone who can tell you more. Especially after looking at your other posts, I'd say you're at least being abused on an emotional level. You can also try a child abuse hotline: 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453). |

Are you people insane? Beating,hitting,slapping,punching,pushing,kicking,whipping,
these are all forms of abuse! If they aren't then why don't you do these acts of abuse to your co-workers,boss or neighbours when they don't listen to you and see if the police don't come knocking on your door! |
