Yes. They will take it out of your NEXT paycheck, usually. It's an adjustment. |

Realistically they would just withhold it from your next paycheck instead of asking their employees to pay it back (thats just looking for trouble). |

If you overpaid your electric bill, credit card bill, tax bill...would you want your money back?
Just exactly how is this different? |

If you got shorted in your check would you be ok with that? I don't think so!
They will get their money back. |

Yeah, you have to pay it back. Sorry. Usually they will just withhold it from your next check once they get it calculated out. Sucks, don't it? |

You are not entitled to anything you didn't earn.
Yes, you will have to pay it back |

yep they will take it out in your next paycheck |

The short answer is "yes" you have to pay it back. Technically, you can be charged with theft if you don't. More importantly, you will probably be fired from your job if you try to keep money you know you did not rightly earn. |

their mistake but you cannot keep it may go as far that it maybe policy if you notice the differance and not say anything it would be your fault |

Yes, just because you are an employee and a mistake was made, you don't get to keep money you didn't earn. .
As an employer, I can tell you that if I had made this mistake, i would meet with each person individually, explain the error, and offer a plan to have the overpayment withheld from X number of future paychecks so that it was as painless as possible.
You could suggest this to the payroll department where you work .. you have nothing to lose by asking! |

yes you do, it's only fair. When you overpay, don't you want a refund? |

When they find it, they have the right to short you on the next paycheck. If you quietly bring it to your bosses attention and to HR, you will probably get a few brownie points for being honest- (they will find it sooner or later) |

Well, technically you do. Either pay inform them and pay it back or it would be withheld from your next paycheck. I would recommend telling them and offering to pay back, before they find out and take it back. |

Yup!!! They are going to deduct it anyway so it's not like you have to cut them a check. Don't blow the money... it was just an interest free loan. |
