Hey I'm 24 too and I sometimes feel the way you do. I just finished reading through my journals that I kept as a teenager from about 13-22. I stopped writing in them some time after that for some reason. But looking back through them, I've seen how much I've changed and grown. I used to be a bad-*** teenager and now I'm responsible and everything I've ever done has happened for a reason because it led me here. I have a job that doesn't pay much but it is excellent experience. I work pt too and am upgrading some of my skills because I know it takes a lot of hard work to become successful. I already feel successful because I have accomplished so much and am on the road to something great. When you look back on your life and remember the "small" things, those small things could have been what made you who you are today. Just keep moving forward and one day you will really find something you love and are passionate about that will make you successful. Remember too that success is viewed in many different ways. My cousin doesn't have a lot of money but she has a loving husband and family. To her that is success. Just keep your head up and remember that everything happens for a reason and things happen when they are supposed to. |

It is never too late. If you need more education for the profession of your choice, look into how to get it. Work hard. Save for the future. |

If you graduated from architecture, you won't see success until you 40's.
Success is subjective. You can be content and as long as you can make a living, you are successful. If you're trying to be CEO or a manager and are just an entry level professional.. you have a while to go, but can still be successful if you have made the correct moves towards your goal...
Also, with your social life, if you're happy, it is successful... |

no way, just set goals for yourself, goals that you really want and that you'll really be able to reach. |

Only you can answer your question. Are you going to sit around and beat yourself up, or are you going to do something constructive. Whining about your situation takes energy you should be spending on making yourself more marketable. I don't know what you know, or what you can do, but if you can punch numbers into a phone to inquire about school, or learn a trade, you ought to make a move. At 24, it's too late to be a kid anymore...get busy on your life! |

what are you talking about? 24 is still young. you have plenty of time to become sucessful. if you have a career that you want to stick to for a long time in mind, you should start now. i wouldn't wait till you're older to get started, so if you have something that you're good at and passionate about go get that job, or get an internship. don't stress. you have nothing to show for it because you're still young in the business world. just relax and go after your dream |

Bill gates was 31 when Microsoft took off. Samuel Jackson was almost 50 before he became successful. 24?? You will go far, because you have so far to go |

I failed my high school because I just don't like what I was studying. I like computer science and I am good at it; however, I didn't get into computer science in my home country due to strong competition that were weighed on all subjects in school, not just computer science. Thus, I was forced to study chemistry, then I failed my high school. As the result, I stay at home for four months doing nothing. I was unemployed with no school. I felt that I was not up to my potential. I was angry with the entire world. I was depressed. I didn't talk to my parents because I hate them at that moment. I locked myself in the room. I was young and the world seems to determine the rest of my life is useless. It was not fair. I know that. I have suffered.
My parents finally gave up their objections for me studying computer science at Spring 2003. I am now a senior computer science student in the US. However, I feel severe fatigue now. There is so much work to do for classes. My school works go downward right now because in the senior year the work are very hard. This is harder then my junior year. In one particular class which is suppose to be hard, my professor said that if anyone correctly answers one question that is marked "hard" in any of his exams, that student would get an A immediately. There is a lot of stress. I went to counseling center of the school a few times and I found of their advice/help is still very limited. I am still counting on them. They assume I am going to kill someone or myself, actually far away from it. What I need is a mentor. Now something is just out of place. I need to fix it. I know I can handle it. For a lot of my problems, I believe that I am the key to the solution. So, work frigging hard.
I fight for what I am meant to be. I am seeking my life. I feel belong to the geek community a lot. This is part of my life. For school, may be I need to have more time to catch up. I can be very expressive if I spend more time on this. May be talking it out loud may help a bit.
Sigh.
And yes, I am 24. Sometimes things just don't under your control. A lot of people they go to the military and they come back to the US and they are like 4 years older, and yes they have to get over it. I think they have even worse experience than what I had gone through.
For me, it is very hard to accept that I have to go through all the schools. Now I think the only school that I feel worth to be in is only the university. There is a lot of inefficiency in the education system. We cannot help to improve anything unless we gain insight and educated, and thus forge the sure key to success. The chances are some people have catch up with their opportunities that is why they are successful. To find even more opportunities that suits you, sometimes it just requires as little as random luck. Therefore, don't get frustrated if you don't get it.
Sometimes, it is not about being successful. It is all about being spiritual and also who you really are. It is all about how you define yourself.
To be successful, you have got to be rich in something. Some people are money rich, and their spirituality don't grow a bit. Then, I doubt those people are successful after all. A great-grandmother feel she is successful because she has her great-granddaughter. What kind of rich would you like?
I have wished all of you to be well being, have good health, and you are able to find your life. Please think of me, and I am thinking of you guys right now. May you have your precious goals fulfilled and delineate the purpose of your life. |

No, it is defintely not too late to make something out of your life. I think the best way of making something of yourself is by helping others.
Also, you can make success whatever you want it to be be. |
