They're driving me mad! Old women want me to distribute their millions to cats homes, nigerian bankers want to put millions into my account, because the true owner is missing in action, presumed dead. I've won just about every lottery on this planet, and i'm still broke! |

Normally they would call and not email you. You can contact a company called Fraser & Fraser and they would tell you if your name was the same as any probate case that they are working on. All companies that are classed as Heir Hunters have a list and they work on them before they have to be turned over to the state. There are also scams where people find somebody with the same name as somebody deceased so they can claim the estate. Don't reply to the email but do some background searching first. Ask your family about the name and check the company name who the email came from. |

Yes, there are many variations of this scam doing the rounds all the time. Just ignore and delete them. |

Yes. Especially from remote African countries. This is a scam - do not fall for it!
I've read (on the Internet, so it must be true) stories of people who've been conned with these - they have to pay a little upfront to get a huge amount of money. Not surprisingly, the large amount never appears. And, on top of that, the fraudsters have your bank details, which can be used in creating false identities.
Don't go there - just delete the email(s). |

No but it is a scam.
If you have the same name as the deceased you must be dead? How could you leave money to yourself? Or why?
Don't open it and don't respond report it as junk mail. |

Half a dozen times, but don't believe a word. It's a BIG SCAM. A lawyer would never send an e-mail. Usually a registered letter |

No, I never get any sort of scam emails. I think you need to be more careful with where you put your email address or something as they can't just get it from nowhere, it can happen but it is rare. |
