I would say definitely not. Several of my family members got into selling Amway when it started in the early 1980's. There was a set amount that had to be purchased monthly no matter what. This forced them to either act like annoying salespeople all the time or just buy the required amount themselves to stay afloat. In the end, everyone except one person left Amway because they could not make any money and the one who did remain only does it on the side. |

No. The concept of multi-level marketing is only good for the initial guy, never for the one who sells the product. You only make money if you can convince 30 others to go and sell for you. It is like a pyramid scheme....there are more losers than winners. Don't buy the propaganda that is pushed as a way to make it big. All the people I have known who have done any Amway are still in it. They were all excited to start but after much money and time, they came out behind.

First, I am not in Amway but was in it years ago. I've read many books on Multi-level marketing and Network Marketing and have some experience with several.
First, Amway is a Multi-level Marketing company. As such, the way to make money is to buy the products from your "upline" and sell them on either a retail basis or to people in your "Downline". there are many companies like this and they do work if you work them but you do have to work them. I knew several people who did quite well with it.
Next, you have Network Marketing companies that are similar in that you have an upline and downline but you (and everyone else) gets tied directly into the company instead of having to buy through your upline. Again, there are many companies like this and they do work if you work them but you do have to work them. I knew several people who do quite well with it. (currently, I'm in Melaleuca).
they all work to one extent or another, the thing to consider is what it is you want to get out of it. the fastest way to make money bar none is to buy something and sell it for more and repeat, whether it's vitamins, tires or farm equipment. you have to decide what's right for you in the end.

I think Amway or any personal selling is the type of business that is best for the sort of person who loves selling and is a total schmoozer who is never off the clock by default. Like lawyers.. I have seen some Amway and other sales person jokes in my time but you gotta decide if its the right thing for you. If you think its too humiliating or you aren't sure about your interpersonal or selling skills then maybe you should consider doing something else. |

My mom used to call it Scamway. We knew someone who sold it. I'd probably doubt it's benefits though. |
