Yes, bowling is a sport.. Problem is with all this controversy, it doesnt get the recognition it deserves... Sure, you can have a 50 year old pot bellied guy with a bowling ball in one hand, and a beer in the other, but thats the nice part abouot the sport (yes, sport) is its many different levels... From the casual cosmic bowler, to the pros on tv, and everybody in between... Those guys are bowling at least 10 games a day, minimum, 6 days a week, you try bowling 60-70 games a week, your arm would be falling off... and meanwhile they still have to come up with a 220 or so if they want ANY chance of winning on the tv finals.. often scores are even higher..
Yes, I will agree on most levels if your not a pro, it can be considered more of an activity in some ways... But when you look into everything these guys put in it, it is definitely a sport.. Even on the casual bowler end, it may be more of a mental sport, but it is a sport... I can bowl a strike, but 12 in a row??? it aint as easy as it sounds, you gotta repeat that shot 12x, exactly in order to get that perfect 300.... |

Bowling is definitely a sport. I found some evidence for you because of the constant debate over this:
Go here:
www.presidentschallenge.com
for the specific one: go here >>
https://www.presidentschallenge.org/the_challenge/active_lifestyle.aspx#
Click on the 'All Kinds of Activities' You can see that bowling is listed as an activity.
Presidents Challenge is a pretty good site. It helps you make sure you exercise. It also shows how much exercise is good for you and things like that. You can try joining the Active Lifestyle Program. =D
So, yes, bowling is definitely called a sport. It's an activity. |

Of course it is. What kind of moron thinks it's not? What is it then...an occupation? A treatment? A punishment? If you compete against another person, a score is kept, physical skill is involved (as opposed to only mental skils) and a winner is determined then it is a sport. That is what sports ARE. |

I don't think so, after further review of The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air:
Will: Now, you know that I could beat Carlton at any sport, right?
Uncle Phil: Yes,
Will:Ok, so that's when I found out bowling wasn't a sport:(
Or something of the sort...
But since when does ANYONE listen to me...Lol |
