If she is a Christian then she will not burn in hell becuase she has salvation and no sin can remove it other then denial and unbelief in him will cause her to not have everlasting life with God. Yet, it is still wrong and is a sin to refer to anyone/ or thing to God because one of the ten commandments is ...." You shall have no other gods before me" NOT meaning that you can have other gods just he must be the most important. but meaning that you must not create anything to be your idol. "You shall have no idols" With that said, i am sure if she is a Christian she will not burn in hell, but even though she was using it as a figure of speech. it may/ and obviously was questioning her faith. We ALL have to be of what we say.. because whatwe say may very well RUIN our testimony. !!! |

I wouldnt do that if i was her. Maybe its not a sin but just the fact of it. I know i would use a different word. God is to stong. i would be like they are the best. or they are better than steak and potatoes. |

It is blasphemous and blasphemy is distasteful to our Father in Heaven. It is disrespectful and I would say maybe taking His name in vain. Some people say those things and don't think about what it is that they are saying.
Just remind them of the great commandment, Thou shalt have no other gods before me :)

it isn't really a sin.. it kinda is but not really. don't worry though, she won't go to hell for it because she didn't actually believe it; as long as she has accepted christ as her savior she should be okay. |

technically, yes, it's a sin. but she almost definitely didn't refer to him as someone she worships. there are far more punishable sins than that. swearing, for example. as long as she doesn't worship the guy. |

You people always wanna make a belief personal to you, so you change/add things to the belief to make it YOU ******* RELIGION. Im a christ follower. Lately, weird things have been happening to Me. Im no one special, I think, but lots of weird/unfamiliar things have been ocurring in My life. I think I got some kind of internal-stigmata thing going on. I bullshit you not! I have this bruise on my right forearm looks like a tear-drop shape, bout 2 in. in length 1 inch wide, but it has the characteristics of a bruise, except the center of the bruise is okay, theres no darkess, just a round patch of skin, unscathed. weird huh? |

honey, my (and numerous others) opinion concerning GOD, is that it is someone/something that you can not see or hear, but only feel with your heart- a "Higher Power" of sorts. For when you ask for guidance or pray it is simply for Good Orderly Direction.....GOD. :) |

are you kidding me. First off, understand that a persons relationship to god is indistinguishly subjective. First we have to understand that just because this girl used the word GOD, she isnt restricted to defining her god as one that is definable by you. second, as human beings, we are constricted to the linguistic tools that are achievable of people of OUR intelligence; this is very important when one is trying to understand what somebody is saying. Just because she used the term god, our language could never be specific enough for you to understand her relationship with the representational content of god or of her SINGER.
