"Different" is such an ambiguous term: I'm learning that when you live and act in a way that is consistent with what your heart leads you to do, those people that accept and love you for the person you are will find you. The crowd you go with is entirely your decision. In any circumstance you should never do something you don't want to do just because it's popular. There are a lot of trends that spring up and die just as quickly. Stick with what you like. If you want to wear a spiked dog collar, no one can say you can't.
The people who stand out in society are the people who follow their convictions without regard to anyone else's opinion.
Love the people around you, but love yourself just as much. You, as an individual, are already different from anyone else. It's your choice when to follow and when to lead. |

One of the funniest things I've heard relates to how even the rebels are conformist:

Well it depends on the situation. If you are talking about a calm enviroment then be yourself. But, if a bunch of say rock are falling down a cliff and everyone is running away from the rocks, I'm going with the crowd, but you can be different if you want to. |

Girl you shouldn't even have to answer that. Being your self is the best you can be. You get respect. Your able to make better choices. People tend to look up to you. You sometimes become a roll model for other people even in your age group. Be you, no matter what. |
