It doesn't matter what your age is, it is hard to raise a proper and well mannered child. However, at 18 with little education, it will be more difficult financially. Children are not cheap. They cost money and without a good education, it can become harder to support a child that one would want to. |

A more mature person is better able to handle the issues & stresses part and parcel of raising children, but a younger person can be effective with special vigilance.
My mom was 18 when she started her family with me. It was a challenge for her, but I think I turned out okay. {wink} {smile} |

Childrasing is always going to be "difficult", in the sense that it will demand alot of patience and consistency. The more of these two qualities that you put into it, the easier it will be as the child grows older. You can make it to where the ride gets easier as time goes by. Or you can create it to be a living nightmare - for parent and child.
An 18 year old who uses patience and consistency will, as a 24-year old, have a much easier time than a 30 year old parent who is self-centered, domineering and influenced by their own immaturity and uncontrolled emotions, rather than the logical principles of child development. |

It's according to how mature the 18 y/o is. Apparently she wasn't too mature or she wouldn't have gotten pregnant unless she is married and wanted a baby. |

Yes. Ask her how her life is going. Is she still in school? If she had to quit, she may not return to her education. All her friends are going out, dating, movies, etc and she has a baby to care for. |

Yes, it can get really hard unless your cousin is somewhat mature for her age. You have to dedicate your life to your baby. Financially, it is really hard too. Money for diapers, formula, etc. can really break you at times. You have to pay a babysitter to go out with your friends.....)( |

Yes it is very hard. I had a baby at 16yrs old. I was going to school and trying to find a babysitter to watch her. I had no help from my family. It will be okay if you have your family and friends with you. but just do not take them for granted. If they love you they will be there |
