I do know it's legal...as long as all the information on the checks is accurate (account number, routing number, name, address, phone#, etc). Don't forget to begin the checks with the next number from where your bank issued checks left off. You should also be able to make deposit slips that the bank will accept.
The down fall to making your own checks is the fact that they are not as safe as bank issued checks. They will not be made of watermarked, erase resistant, tamper proof security paper. |

Absolutely.
However, you need to make something that is not easy for
someone else to make - or you run the risk of forgeries.
I think the most famous case of someone making a check
themselves was a "check" sent to the IRS.
It was a T-Shirt with the caption "off my back" and the
rest of the information that you normally include on a check
(date, signature, amount, etc.)
Yup, he sent them the shirt off his back.
I believe the IRS took lots of photos and showed them around
before processing it normally. I imagine those photos are
still tacked to IRS employee's cubicle walls. |

Yes it IS legal...but be cautioned that many businesses will NOT accept them - and they have the right not to. |

It is legal as long as all the information is on the checks, and no fraudulent intent is bieng planned. Assuming that your making these on a printer from a program, places should accept them unless they look completly fake. |

They're legal, but your bank may not be too happy with you if they don't include the MICR coding that they use to process items. As long as you routing and transit number and the account number are accurate, the check is valid and legal, but processing it is another story. A check without the MICR encoding will "gum up the works" and not make you popular with your bank. |

They're legal - as long as you use your own account information and have sufficient funds to cover them. In fact, you can write a check on the back of a cocktail napkin. But I doubt that any business would accept them (which is their prerogative) |

I asked that to the tell at the bank about a year ago when I got my new printer... thinking I could save some money. She said no, or else anyone could print checks off of other people's account and all they would need is a look at a check that was used to pay for something. So, no, won't work. |

I doubt it because all those funky numbers and lines on the bottom must be scanned so they know what account, bank, etc to get the funds from. |
