Hello, yes it does seem to have an appeal & works somewhat, depends on what your selling.Personally found it worked but not to the level that I expected.So back to shipping & handling fees, however if there reasonable customers are fine with it.Everyone knows it takes time to pack & ship items, time is money. |

Definitely, because then the buyer feels like they're saving money. I hate finding something $15 cheaper than retail but it's from some guy in California (other side of country from me) and it costs $21 to ship. Hmph. And it usually doesn't arrive for weeks anyways. |

Of course! Who doesn't love free shipping? Especially with the way a lot of the sellers on ebay overcharge for shipping!!!!!!!! |

It depends on the seller. I was about to bid on something that looked cheap, and the shipping turned out to be $177. I don't overcharge for shipping, only what it costs me. |

in the past ebayers would sell items very cheaply then hit you with a huge shipping fee. They did this because you could sometimes make more money on overcharging for shipping then the item. Today people are aware of this practice and now go for the free shipping items. And yes it is true that they are selling for more today because of this. Ebay overall is still a great place to get some good deals.

Yes to the inexperienced buyer free shipping looks awesome... but yes the sellers just add the shipping price onto the price of the item.... another way they fool people is to charge like 99 cents for something like a CD and then charge 10.00 shipping.... then you receive the item and find out it cost them 1.99 to ship.... that really grinds my gears. There are lots of tricks sellers use on eBay. |
