Generally, yes.
If at all possible, record the interview with a tape recorder (or even with the laptop if you have the ability) and then type it up later. |

I tend to make interviews a bit more informal and relaxed. I get more insight to the real person that I'm interviewing. Taking notes with a laptop strikes me as very impersonal and it detaches you from the situation. My management style is based on personal relationships with the people I work with, and it starts at the interview. : ) |

In my opinion it isn't.....as long as it is important. |

You should ask the person which they prefer, and come prepared with legal pad and pens if they don't like the laptop idea. Some people would really, really hate it! |

Only if you don't ask permission. When I've done an interview, I used a tape recorder, but I asked permission to record it. |

If the notes are relevant to the job candidate, not at all. The candidate for employment would be wise to take a few notes also on what you are saying about your company. As a professional business courtesy , the candidate and you should ask if it would be OK . |

only if your keys click vary loud and you cant take the notes while maintaining normal levels of eye contact you would in any interview. |

Yes and no. Some companies will take notes during interviews, either using a laptop or other means to record what the interviewees were saying for future reference/decision making. This is needed especially when a company is hiring a large pool of workers or they simply want to make a sound decision in recruiting the best worker they can find. |

Yes, it makes the person who you are speaking to, uncomfortable and aware of what they are saying, making the situation which is already stressful, more stressful. A Dictaphone would be more appropriate.. |

I think so, but i've seen others do it consistently, so maybe i am old-fashioned or in the minority. |

NOPE! It is not rude to take notes when interviewing a person. Because you'll need those notes if you are doing an essay on that person. |

no, you can do what you like when you are interviewing someone.
However it is rude for potential staff members to watch the computer while at a job interview. |
