It isn't against faith to be wealthy.
The "camel through the eye of the needle" actually refers to a pass in the mountains known as the eye of the needle, in that it is treacherous because there are many paths that lead away from it - such as a rich person, many temptations await because of the freedom from responsibility money can bring.
Do you think that the Gates, who have enough wealth for all, and have no taken such a dramatic chunk of their wealth to help educate and make poor children healthy would get kicked out of heaven?
Instead of focussing on how many houses, focus on filling your needs, sharing what you have even while you're building your empire, and letting money serve you, instead of you serving money. |

hell no... where did you hear that from? i know priest who are rich, they drive mercedes and have fancy homes...absolutely untrue... its against rules to be poor because you aint trying to better your life.. go for the money if the career makes you happy |

it is not wrong to be wealthy. wealth is a blessing. your wealth and giving heart can do much to help many. just always remember where it is you recieved your talents that led you to your wealth (if that is in fact where you end up) and be grateful |

There's nothing wrong with wealth. The Bible says that to whom much is given, much is required. So it doesn't say don't be rich, but don't make money your idol. While money is important in life to live, it is not the aim for life. Life is full of so many much more precious things. Good luck in your pursuit of wealth. |

Yes, there was an article about that very thing today on beliefnet.com. I think it is because God would want you to use that money to help out your fellow man...not spend it on the latest designer brand name or whatever. Look at Mother Theresa....she lived dirt poor to do God's work. She was a true Christian. |

money has the ability to corrupt. that is the problem. it's okay to be wealthy in the material sense as long as you are extraordinarily generous to those in need. |

I personally dont think so but many people quote the saying about it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven as an argument against a religious person being wealthy.
