Lead in drinkig water is extremely dangerous and may lead to lasting medical consequences. These include damage of the nervous system, slow growth, hearing problems, and headaches. If it is in your city water contact the local government. If it is from your water piping then you may want to have your piping redone. |

The only way you could have lead in your drinking water is if you use lead cups. Lead is a heavy metal, and does not occur in water tables. |

Yes, it is, if it is a significant amount. Most city/town water is OK because of federal regulations (unless Republicans get re-elected). If you use a well, get a filter (Brita, Pur, etc.). Make sure the filter removes a substantial part of the lead. Most water has some lead, because the older pipes are lead pipes. Let the water run a few seconds before taking some to drink or use in cooking, and it should be OK. Have it tested if you are worried about it. |

Yes, lead can cause insanity, birth defects, and retardation. Get an in-line water filter and have a plumber install it. |

I don't know what you should do about it, but it is dangerous. The ancient Romans had pipes in their aqueducts made from lead, and this caused millions of deaths in little children of ages 4-10 who had been over exposed. |

Yes and add a filtration system as fast as possible,especailly if there are children drinking the water. |

heck no, my first home in RI and second home in CT had lead pipes coming in from the town. If your really worried just call a home inspector company in the phone book and have them come test the water. (Should be at most $50).
Anything in moderation, your body has a tolerance to lead well over what EPA says it is, there's also an even bigger fudge-factor for kids. |
