Is money worth slaving over?

StillNoCouch
Money can't buy happiness.

It sure can buy the kind of misery you can afford to live with though.

Money itself isn't. But you have to think of what you can do with it. If you have a pretty good life (meaning good family, friends, and your not starving or sleeping in the streets) then you shouldn't be worried about it all that much. Sure everyone likes to have nice things, and not have to struggle. But if everyone made their own clothes, built their own house, and grow their own food, then money wouldn't be so important.

ECREAM
that is up to the individual, I work hard to live in a nice style, but I don't slave at my job just to buy things.

depends on your priorities,
the key is being content with what you have.. and enjoying the fruits of your labor to a level you can afford

I agree, i have to pay my bills some how, but as far as slaving over, dont know about that. I think that some people have to do what they have to do and if that means slaving over to only have "enough", then you gotta do what ya gotta do because if you dont, then you will end up lazy on welfare.

Mon I
Only if money helps you get the things or do the things that make you happy.

That depends on the amount of money. Slavery when wealthy is a lot more pleasant then the other kind.

kiranni
for me it is...gotta pay my bills sum how. :( damn job

Money can't buy happiness
But it's never pissed me off!

It's worth working for to gain life's necessities.

sunshine_today
Too many people buy big expensive cars or other things they can't afford so they have to become slaves. If people lived under their means and saved more than they spend, they'd find they had a lot more options in life and didn't need to slave away.

E
if you are in a bind and have bills to pay and mouths to feed....slaving for money is definately worth it....until you get back on your feet and can find a job that you dont have to slave for and you actually like or can tolerate...

I believe is was that pillar of society '50 cent' or 'fiddy' to his gansta friends like to call him who says "Get rich or die trying". What a sad shallow existence that this prat has, by all means enjoy some of the things that having money allows you to do, but don't give up your life for it!

Yes. Although its good to buy anything you want, and go any where you'd like, it best to stay afloat from landlord keep nagging you over rents, and electricity, phone, water bills, as well as grocery.

Money is worth slaving over if you have fun also.

I work all week then go out at the weekend and blow the lot...

lethwyn
money keeps a roof over our heads, and the wolf away, but you can't take it with you, so SLAVING? no.

Sweetness
Absolutely not.

I had the Porsche, the Benz, giant house, Rolex, etc. and was miserable. I dumped my rich jerk husband and am way more happy.

People, family, relationships, character, these are the things that bring true happiness.

MONEY is a pride when earned in the right way. It gives peace when used generously. slogging for it 11 months will reward a full month of heavenly holiday. It protects, and saves many a life. Its like a platinum gun. Its for us to treasure it as precious or use it as a gun on others and us too. Anyone having talent to earn should earn to the optimum for themselves, for the near and dear and also for the far away needy.

it's worth working for, but I wouldn't want to become a slave to it.
