I hear a lot of older men are going on it just to lure teenage girls to them. The website has been on the news a lot because of this. Some girls have been kidnapped and they say the website has a lot to do with it. I would say it's not the site's that's bad it's the girls. Which teenager meets someone online and actually meets them in real life? Stupid. |

the only way myspace becomes bad is when you put too much information about yourself onto your page where anyone can see it. also if you add someone as a friend that you don't know in real life. a lot of information gets passed thru bulletins. |

It would depend on the person, but personally I'm not on it. I had a friend who went to meet a guy she met through my space and ended up being raped and killed. Just don't be so gullable because you can never really know who you meet. |

not if u dont put ur last name up or town u live in. just use the major city closest to u and dont put your last name on the page. and dont get extra friendly with people u meet on there...no matter what!! ( i mean dont be going to meet people in person or giving them your phone number) but i think overall it is pretty safe. you only hear about bad things because those people met in person...thats why it is important never to meet them. otherwise there is no way for them to find out where u live or anything. Oh and if u r in school, do not list your school..............................just as a saftey measure. |

There is nothing wrong with MySpace. It is designed mostly for the teenage to young adult crowd, but can be used by anyone. The only issue is the people themselves. There is no risk in having an account or even a profile but some people insert more information than they should. Sometimes when they have pictures they get more attention from those would-be predators. As long as the individual knows how to be careful with information, it's perfectly safe. The internet, in reality, is safer than the real world as long as you know how to keep information to yourself. |

MySpace is a huge operation geared at collecting demographic information on people. Especially 14-35 age crowd; they have such a deep database on the personal preferences of the members, and personally it's too much for me to be giving away. |

you just have to be careful who you associate with.
for instance, I am only firends with other people on myspace that I know in real life or who have a valid identity.
I would suggest that when you resgister, change your account name from your actual one to one you like.
ex:
my name is Christine
but myspace has my name as KittyGirl and the first letter of my Last name only.
that way I can protect my true identity.
you can also set security settings and such.
myspace is basically a diary/personal site you can design in any way, so that way you can make it fun!!

No; but truly you must beware of who can "tap" into you. You can judge by the way some people answer on here that there are some bad, loose- screwed, evil intentioned people out there. And these are the obvious ones!!

no not at all you just have to be safe with it like not putting out personal info like address or last name, i have onemy self and its a really fun way to meet new people and if ur in highschool then you can see myspace members that attend ur school well hope u get one and remember have fun but be safe wit it |
