Midnight Friday night , its what we call it.
The last minute on Friday is starts at 11:59 PM. So, that last minute on Friday would finish off the day. The last second belonging to Friday would be11:59:59 PM.
Then, at 12:00:00 AM is Midnight Friday (by name), yet automatically turning it into Saturday since the last second from Friday ended.
So, 12: 00:01AM is first complete second for Sat by the ticking from 12:00:00 to 12:00:01
So you are basically right.
Think: Dec 31st.... at midnight its Jan 1st..new year, new day |

If your college professor asks this, I would say that Midnight 12:00 for Friday, starts just after 11:59 Thursday night. But if my sexy wife tells me to meet me in the room at Midnight Friday, I will be there at the end of a long Friday of work! |

Yes. I've also been confused by this, but recently verified it. Actually, I've always thought they should call it 12 M. instead of A.M. or P.M. If you think about it, 11:59 P.M. is the end of the day; 12:00 is the start of the first hour of the morning. |
