Many of the hypotheses and conjectures proposed in the Da Vinci Code are not able to be proven. However, it is a very interesting read and it has ignited a great deal of interest in history, travel, and religion. Isn't that worth something? I think everyone loves a good conspiracy theory and the ability to talk with almost anyone about the book (given the large number of people who have read the book) is very exciting.

try this book: holy blood, holy grail by michael baigent, richard leigh, henry lincoln. this will give you more information on the authors that argue that there is a possibility that jesus might have been married to mary magdalene, and that their possible child or children emigrated to what is now southern france. once there they established what became the merovingian dynasty, which is championed today by a secret society called the priory of sion.
the da vinci code: the book is a thriller... was made for people to understand the picture a little better in a story. now, what the book contains as information isn't made up. it has been researched for 20 years now. it is thought-provoking book (if you are open minded), that can not be proven, but it also can NOT be dis-proven! the quest remains to people who do believe of the possibility and the quest is closed to people who don't.
i would say, before you take any conclusions, just research for yourself... good luck. |

Personally I believe in it. Recently I saw a very interesting program about "the Da Vinci code and Marry Magdaleine". Many christian scholars and professor answered that. I believe so. |

parts are real and the society is real(although named something else) but it has not been proven that da vinci himself was ever actually a member of this society. The society was actually a secret political party in france during the mid-late 1900s that was grouped in with the protesters who were against socialism and tearing up the streets!
Forget what these people say as the bible will not explain anything to you as the bible you read is not in its complete state and is missing many scripts and texts. It is believed that the "holy grail" is not a cup but actually the mother mary herself as pictured in Da Vincis the last supper where she is next to jesus.

No, it is simply a fiction...A very entertaining fiction. There is very little truth in that book. 99.9% is bunk. There really were Merovingian. There really were Dead Sea Scrolls...But they mention nothing about Christ or Mary M. And the secret society Da Vinci "belonged" to was completely fabricated. It never actually existed. It is a good fiction and a fun read. But don't buy into any of it. |

It's a view of researchers over a long investigation, but bare in mind that they had a goal, to write a best seller.
Armed with this in mind do some homework on the subject,so that you can make an informed judgment. Good Reading! |

The Code mixes fact with hypothesis with vague history. Read Holy Blood and the Holy Grail if you want a more scientific (although not unflawed) version :-) |
