You try to get child support reduced if you are getting more custody. If you feel the money is being misused, try to get it set up so that you are paying as much of it directly(day care, medical bills, etc.) and have it counted towards the support. |

Family Law is particularly distasteful to me , but you can hire a detective to follow her and try to find evidence of her being a bad mother. Have her expenses, credit cards, car, house, insurance payments and banking practices.Do you know the child support actually spent on the children/ child? Are the children/child healthy and provided for. Is she seeing someone that might be dangerous around the children/child? If you do not think you can take better care of your children/child, I would advise against a challenge for cu study. Think about it and what you might be doing. Now having explored that method, maybe you should partition the Municipal Court for a reduction of the amount of child support. This may make it a little easier on you and in the proses, get some visitation if you're so inclined. |

no way! you should have thought about that before you pulled it out - once you pull it out, be prepared to pull out your wallet - the only way out is death or your child turns 19 or graduates from college - if you care about your child at all, you will pay something to him/her after graduation if they go on to college. I did and I am a MOM who's son chose to live with dad!!
BTW - he made more money, had more assets, and I was a single mom while he was remarried, and I paid until my kid was 18! |

If your kids' mother is spending your child support dollars inappropriately and not for the benefit of your children, you can take that up with the courts. But under no circumstances is it appropriate for you to even think of depriving your children of the support that is rightfully theirs. They can't support themselves! |

does she have someone else in her life now? if so, see if that person would be willing to becaome the legal parent of the child(ren). if so you can sign away your parental rights and the other person can take them over. you will still owe any back child support but all future child support will come to an end and you will never again have any rights to those children. |

Well, I guess you're cranky tonight. Aren't these children your flesh and blood? The children have to have a place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear, haircuts, medical and dental care, some form of transportation, among other things. Hopefully, the money their mother gets is used mostly for the benefit of the children. I don't think you want to go to jail.
My husband's former wife went to Hawaii for 2 weeks and left the kids a case of chicken noodle soup for food, so I certainly can empathize with you. The child support he paid was not trifling either.
You could seek joint custody, but then who's going to take care of the kids when your working, especially working long hours.
If she's getting alimony, maybe you could get that reduced if there's been a change of circumstance in her life since the divorce. |

Let's hope not. The child/ren is/are your responsibility. The one writer is incorrect in most states, you can not tie child support to visitation or lack thereof. The one writer possibly has a solution if you feel your money isn't spent correctly, which is to pay some bills directly, but that would require a court order and going back to court and all the costs involved. The courts don't usually dictate how a custodial parent spends the money unless the children are clearly not being taken care of. |
