STARBUCKS is not the right job for u matt if u want look at this sight |

Starbucks pays between $7-$8. You would make drinks for people, run register, clean up the dishes, and answer peoples stupid q's about the drinks you serve. |

Why do you want to stay away from the grocey business? A cart-retriever/courtesy clerk can make very decent wages. Gracery stores also work around school schedules. Starbucks will have you working at 5am... not a good idea if you're a high school kid. Stay away from the food service industry, but definitely check out Safeway or whatever grocery store chain is in your neighborhood. |

Look for something that interests you, there is more than you think. If you like working with cars, go talk to a nearby auto shop and see if they need another pair of hands. If you like to do sports, look into that sports facilities for job offerings. Officiating sports is a great way to make money and stay involved. Also, a busboy at a restaurant is good, and that can lead to a promotion to server after some experience. |

Well im not sure what starbucks pays, probably around 8-9 an hour in california. But u will have to make the drinks if you work there. I heard in and out is a good place to work if you have them where you live. |

Well at Starbucks you would do the only thing there, make coffee. I know in Maryland you start at $6.50 at most Starbucks. |

well I went to Starbucks and they told me that you have to be 18 and you gotta apply online (most places say that) I think the same goes for Marcus theaters 2 and loews they don't trust ppl under 18 or ?sumthin? but im just applying everywhere but almost every1 expects you've already had experience
P.S. what's wrong with grocery stores? |

well, I answered this question once today. I would certainly try to take any job you can get in today's economy. You are competing with people who own homes, have families, and pay bills. So, I would say, if you can get a job at a fast food place, or a grocery store, you should take it, because all jobs are scarce right now. But, if you can, try to get a job in something that will teach you a trade. Try to become an apprentice at a automotive shop, or for a plumber. Or, you can ask your school counselor, and ask them if there are any work experience programs available that you can make some money at. When I was your age, I joined Junior Achievement, and it was a program that was at our school, after school hours. We would go there and learn how to make flood lights for cars, (search lights) and we assembled them, and then we made so much money for how many we produced. They were shipped back to the company we assembled them for. Good Luck in your job search. |
