Looks like the $700 Billion dollar bail out plan is having trouble getting established, what are they doing? ?

Too many people are opposed to the idea and are protesting. I imagine they are afraid of middle class riots if they give a lot of money to CEO's who they already know don't know how to run a corporation any other way but in the ground.

A LOT of people are protesting already and letters are flying to congressmen about the huge opposition. If 700 B is to be given to ANYONE it should be given to the hard working middle class who have not gone into debt and who pay taxes instead of arrogant CEO's who make it a policy to deceive people into doing what will hurt them.

Many people today believe in trickle up economics rather than trickle down economics and many Americans believe that if this goes through, the dollar will be devalued so much that a dollar will only be worth a penny.

Do you owe $100,000? Good. It will be as easy to pay off as only $1000 is right now.

However, have you saved through working two jobs and denying yourself luxuries other irresponsible people have been getting by over spending and getting us into this fix? If so, your $10,000 will only be worth $100 and you have struggled to save for nothing!

People who are in that situation are protesting big time! Many people want a gold and silver standard to return and to not pay off people who have behaved irresponsibly. That's like giving a crook a brand new gun and hitting the gun store owner a kick in the face. It makes no since to reward mismanagement.

People are angry and letters are flying to congress. If they pass this, there will be a lot of angry people. We'd rather have hard times financially than to bail out a bunch of crooks! I'd rather lose my job and live in the street (as Bush predicts will happen) rather than pay out to these white collar criminals! I'd rather eat rice, steamed vegetables and tea for years than to allow them to eat steak and caviar! I'd actually rather die than see them enjoy their yaute and fine wine for having tricked so many innocent hard working senior citizens into taking out loans they can not afford. People who don't read that mountain of fine print are screwed.

It is not a crime to be poor. It is not a crime to be old. It is not even a crime to be illiterate. These CEO's think it is okay to treat our American citizens as if we are all criminal for not understanding the legal fine print of every thing and they never vother to explain it. It isn't a crime not to explain the financial situation people are putting themselves in but it should be!

I hope that Bail out plan never goest through. I'll get my sleeping bag and go live on the street now if they promise not to pass it. (Actually, I don't think that will happen. I think Bush is lying to scare people into buying something they don't want or need just like a used car salesman. The last time you were told to hurry and spend your money, did you get a good deal?)

trying to save us from being taken advantage of, the plan is to spare the people that moved our jobs to other countries, hired Illegal aliens knowingly, and made predatory loans form failure at the cost of their victims.
Strangely enough there are a few elected officials that don't think the people that elected them want that to happen.

They're just asking their big brother Israel about what they should do because if they act without asking Israel, it will not be tolerated by Israel.

Neither party seems willing to compromise with the other and that will cause any idea to simply fail.

The continuous partisan BS that we've seen over the past few administrations must stop, but there are too many in the U.S. who are absolutely stuck on the two-party system to ever let another ever be seriously considered, let alone work.

They're having a problem brainwashing Americans into believing that they need to scam us again. It is too risky and not a sure thing. It's just another way to hand millions of taxpayers dollars to multimillionaires. Don't fall for it. We're crippled as it is. This will hammer the nail into America's coffin. The great USA is about to fall.

Apparently the taxpayers have been talking to their congressional representatives and some of our elected officials are beginning to ask questions before writing a blank check for $700 Billion dollars. We have no business bailing out these companies for their poor decision making. Of course, part of the problem lays with the government and their policy of forcing lenders to make loans to those who were not qualified. In any case, it is not the responsibility of the government to act as a safety net for business. It goes against everything this country stands for to have government go in and save any business. The government needs to stay out of it and if theses companies fail, then so be it. Their assets could be sold off to pay their debts. That is what happens when you mismanage your personal or business assets.

I thought that it was $7 billion.
Huh. Channel One got it wrong today.
