Why not actually work at the store for three weeks so you don't have to lie about it? You could even volunteer if pay is a problem. If you say that you have retail experience when you have none, it will be apparent to your new boss on the first day of your job. |

Anytime you misrepresent yourself, the plan can and will backfire on you. Why don't you just stick to the truth? |

It will be obvious to any future employer that you have never had a job and you might get fired for incompetency...There is no replacement for job experience. |

lying about anything on an application is never a good idea. Just be honest. Or work for your dad and his girlfriends company for the three weeks you need to put it on your application. I don't know if they have the ability to check it out, but if they were crazy enough to, they could check the taxes paid by your parents company and see that you weren't paying any. I don't really know much on that. I say play it safe and stick with what you do know. Being a student actually can help you more than lying on an application. School is in essence work experience after all. |

Employers can do background checks on past employment so its probably not a good idea. Also when you sign your application you are verifying that you told the ABSOLUTE truth on your application. Its not smart to lie about something like that. |

NEVER lie on an application. There are ways for them to find out if you worked there or not..it's not worth it!
If they do find out (after hiring you) they will fire you! |
