The toilet paper in my opinion needs to come off the top, otherwise you are always searching for it hanging back in the back. But to solve your problem either use separate bathrooms where you can each have the toilet paper like you want or hang up two rolls next to each other in the bathroom you share, or one of you will need to decide to put aside your wishes for the other's toilet paper happiness. If this is the worst of your problems then you two must have a terrific relationship. Congratulations! =) |

I think that it is better over the top because then...I dunno why. I just think it is better. I hope that is what you prefer! Ha,ha.

Definitely should roll over the top, downwards. You know, you can actually go to the local hardware or discount store and purchase another toilet paper roll holder, and install it right next to the existing one. Sort of a "His and Hers" toilet paper roll dispensers. Then, everyone is happy, and it is a good conversation piece when company comes over. My household actually has two (although we all agree that the paper goes over the top) but since I prefer a different type of toilet paper than my sister and mother do, we can all keep our backsides happy! Ha Ha1 This question was listed right under the happy exhortation to me from Yahoo!==> "You're on a roll!" So I had to give an answer here.
I was raised in an along the wall family, but married someone "over the top". Based on my two major marital philosophies of--
1. Don't sweat the small stuff; and
2. Choose your battles wisely--
We both are now and forever "over the top." I don't feel as though I have lost any battle or war because he always puts the ring down, never never ever sprinkles anywhere, and always remembers to replace the roll. So in the bigger picture, it was a non-tissue, I mean, issue.

I've had that same problem presented to me before. This is what I've come up with...if it had a design printed on the tissue, you would then want it to come over the top so the design would show more. |

i wish i had such an easy question as that. to simplify the problem, just leave the toilet paper on the back of the toilet. that way you or him can decide which way you want to pull the paper off the roll. |

This has been one of those questions that when asked amongst a group of people you will get all sorts of reasons for the way a roll of t-paper should be. This quandry has been in effect for years and years....Lets ask Emily Post or one of those sorts of people and see what she thinks is correct....Personally, variety is the spice of life so switch it back and forth between rolls or better yet, don't use a t-paper holder :-) |
