If you have an union then speak to them. Withholding pay is technically classed as theft.
If you have been in your workplace for more than a year, then you could take your case to an Industrial tribunal. |

They are good for resolving employer/employee disputes...
"Acas aims to improve organisations and working life through better employment relations. We provide up-to-date information, independent advice, high quality training and we work with employers and employees to solve problems and improve performance."
I would then get your company to agree in writing that they will cover any bank charges you may incurr through them not making payment in time |

It sounds to me as if your employers are not very solvent. When my employer did this, she went out of business soon after.
Withholding wages is illegal. A good place to go is the TUC. You don't have to be a union member to get their advice. ACAS can help claiming unpaid waged or redundancy money.
If you lose the job and the wages, the Department for Work and Pensions can pay you any money due they claim it back from the company.
I would give serious thought to finding another job quickly. |

If a company doesnt have the funds to pay you, it's time to look for another job...if they go under you wont get paid anyway. |

Check your contract or the company's policy on payments - they often get away with it by saying they pay "on or around" a particular date.
If not and they are consistantly late it might be worth speaking to CAB or to a work union if you are a member. |

you should first find out whether they are deliberately witholding your pay. if the company has genuine difficulties you may be best served holding on and sitting tight till the pressure eases up on them. whatever it is though they should let you know always when and why your pay has delayed.
if they do it deliberately and its irksome then just leave them. |

1. You better explain your commitments to be done by getting the pay on time to your MD like payments of electricity, phone, loan to avoid penalty or additional interest, medical treatment etc. through a requisition letter.
2. You also try to get advance payment ie suspense with consent of your MD. |

If you are not a member of your union, try going to Citizens advice Bureau. They will help you and may provide you with help in liasing with your company to sort this problem out. |

Try CAB for advice, but I would imagine that anywhere you go would charge for services, and take more than 2 days to sort it out. |
