Your daughter got scammed. Report it to e-Bay but don't expect to get the camera back or get paid either. |

SCAMMER! Sorry but you'll never get a penny from them. NEVER deal with Nigerians. If he sends the money he'll claim it back by payback on PayPal and beleive it or not, he'll get to keep the camera and the money.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND HIM THE £80. REPORT THEM TO EBAY IMMEDIATELY. |

Its a hoax, you should never mail before payment on ebay and you should report the buyer as a non-payer to ebay |

Surely she didn't send it until the money was in her Paypal account? Oh dear. It's 'seller beware' in this case. Sorry |

This again proves that P.T. Barnum was right. |

Oh dear - I'm afraid this sounds like another scam originating in Nigeria - which seems to be home to lots of fraudsters, sadly. Perhaps E-Bay/Paypal can help sort this one out? Certainly other users should be warned. |

Ebay will do nothing. She should never ever ever send goods out to ANYONE before receiving payment. And in this case, almost certainly the Paypal payment would have been reversed anyhow because it was no doubt a fraudulent transaction (read on google about 419 scams - Nigeria) |

She should not have mailed anything until her PayPal invoice was paid. |

She really should not have sent the camera without receiving payment. It sounds rather suspicious to me.
As for legal remedies, while there is indeed a contract in existence between your daughter and this Nigerian fellow, I am not sure if there is much point in attempting to rely upon it. Contractual remedies are pointless if enforcement is too costly. For example, pursuing an action against a Nigerian national whom is not resident in the United Kingdom is clearly going to exceed the cost of the camera itself and it doesn't even guarantee success.
Was there any insurance offered by either Ebay or Paypal in the event that the buyer defaults in making payment? If so, you should check the details of it to see if your daughter can be indemnified for the loss. |

I am not trying to be cruel but it amazes me that people still do not realise that Nigeria is the scamming capital of the world. You can forget the camera and the money. Sorry your daughter is going to have to write it off to experience. Sad but thats it I'm afraid |

In the future do not ship UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THE MONEYI
I don't believe there is anything you can do now. |

This is exactly why a lot of sellers on ebay will state "UK buyers only", or will not ship outside Europe. Your daughter should never have sent the camera until the PayPal payment had been received and cleared funding. I think this one is a lost cause but you must report it to ebay and follow it up to make sure it is investigated properly. In future, I would advise only shipping within the UK and that your daughter puts on her seller information "Item will be shipped only after payment has been cleared". Good luck. |

You don't need my advise, there is enough answers on this to put you right. |

you have fallen for a scam. do not pay any more money, you will never see it again
report it to the police, ebay etc
but, just accept you will never see a penny of that money
you have fallen prey to one of the oldest scams on the internet
Most internet -savvy people assume
nigerian = scam
I am sorry, - honestly, sorry - but you have learned a harsh lesson and it may come in useful in future |

I see people who sell on there with notices on them saying that they do not sell or send items to Africa,it's such a shame but our daughter has learnt a costly lesson, its a shame but it happens to the best I'm afraid to say |

Sorry you've been scammed. Contact ebay and paypal. There was an article in my local paper about a lady who sold a diamond watch to a buyer in nigeria and the same thing happened. You should never send something unless you are 100% sure the money is in your bank account. |

Never send anything until payment has been received and cheques cleared. I doubt she will be able to claim anything back because she sent it before receiving any payment. |

Nigeria- Scammers Mecca. A good rule of thumb is if you ever see anything Nigerian on the internet, run away as fast as you can. |
