Obviously something else is bothering your snail. Do you spend time with it, talk to it or tell it that you love it? If you don't, then this may be the problem. If a snail feels neglected emotionally it will go searching for love elsewhere.

If you buy it in a hard salt mass,Maybe put 2 in there.But I would ask the pet store, if he could only have so much salt a day or month.Before increasing his salt intake. You could even call your vet,If you want to.
