Yes. Any acceptance of a return is a courtesy unless it is posted policy then it is part of the contract of purchase. There is a duty to provide merchantable goods, BUT you must provide evidence that it WASN'T at the moment cash traded hands. For example, if you get a vase home and it is broken, was it broken when you paid for it, or did it bump against something in your car.
So yes, no one need ever accept a return unless it was unmerchantable at purchase. Also, certain goods are illegal to accept as return merchandise. A bottle of alchohol is illegal to accept as a return in my state and there are other items too. |

It is not a rule ,it is a courtesy.
Don`t buy from any business that doesn`t have a return policy.
I do think it is a rule on swimsuits and undergarments that have been worn. |

Generally, there are no laws demanding such a response, rather they are company good will policies. For example, I know one company which has a 6 month not questions asked return policy (including underwear).
On the other hand, some States have a “right of use law.” That is, if you purchase something for a specific use, then it must perform that use. |

Of course it is legal unless you can prove fraud. |

It all depends on the circumstances. If they knowing sold defective merchandise for example. But this all varies by state. |

I would think that unless there is a manufaturer defect, it would be legal. If the product you bought has some kind of manufacturing flaw, I would say it would be illegal if they don't let you exchange. This is not a caveat emptor market, the sellers are somewhat responsible for the products they sell. |

yup. think about it. somebody buys some underwear, wears them, decides they don't like them and returns them. the store puts them back on the shelf, becasue the person told them that the undies hadn't been worn. then you happen to be needing undies and buy the same pair that the guy wore and brought back. it's for your protection as a consumer |

Yes it is legal. Any company reserves the right to their own policies. Did you know that it is also legal for any business to refuse service to anyone for any reason, whatsoever? |

If the sign is posted in the store, at the checkouts, customer service desk, entrance/exit doors, on your receipt, etc. As long as they have it in written form somewhere in their establishment yes. I own a buisiness and work part-time in retail. |

Yes. There are no laws requiring anyone or any business to offer returns or exchanges. If a company or store has that policy and you feel that you were ripped off and need to pursue it, your only option is small claims court. |

ever company makes thier own rules, so if they say no return no exchange that is excatly what they mean. So, except it and get a life. |

Yes- If it is posted at the timeof the sale. There are a few atates that have a three day cooling off or rethink time. But in most cases if you read it and bought it==its yours for ever. |

IF THAT'S THE STATED STORE POLICY, AND IT'S POSTED IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR ALL TO SEE, IT'S LEGAL.
YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DEALING WITH, OR SHOULD KNOW. |
