Does sound a bit daft. However I dread to think how long the queues outside the ATM machines are going to be with lots of old folks dithering as they try to remember their pin numbers. |

take your business elsewhere, i have just opened a nationwide account and think the service is great, and by cutting down on silly admin helps my building society make more money, stay in business and offer better rates. |

the halifax stopped letting you withdraw anything under £300 in the branch a long time ago, they expect you to use the cash machines |

I didnt know that, they take the piss, its your money and you should be able to have as much or little as you like, and, like you say, you might need that £30 thats stuck in there! Gits. |

well the less well off person who draws these tiny amounts is hardly the kind of person the bank wants as a customer, so they are not worried about your problems... You can draw small amounts from a machine, £10 I think... Post office might be the best place, |

I haven't heard this, I'm a customer and have been for many years, I think this idea is wrong and will only encourage people to take out more money than they need, we all know that once the money is in your purse/wallet it doesn't last long. I only take out 10/20 quid at a time because I don't like carrying cash around. |
