I thought you were going to say that you'd found a white one! Happy memories of a double pay packet at holiday time when there was always a white fiver in it.
If you look at the small print on any Bank of England promisory note, it bears the legend "The Bank of England promise to pay the Bearer on demand the sum of ......." whatever is the face value of the note. |
