Dealers price the Series 1935B $1 Silver Certificate at $7 in average circulated grade, $10 in nice circulated with clean paper and some crispness, up to $15 in uncirculated. Crisp uncirculated 1935Bs are being sold for $20 each. The 1935B is one of the better 1935 silver dollar certs. |

My family used to have a retail business. When I worked the cash register, I used to see all sorts of strange paper money come though the place. A one dollar silver certificate is most likely worth - one dollar. Some collectors of paper currency will pay you a bit more for it, but not much - probably two dollar max. You may just want to keep it as a keepsake. I had a bunch of these silver certificates and eventually gave them as gifts to young children. They are kind of unique looking and the parents usually tell their kids to "save it" instead of spending it. |

If you take this item to a bank, you will get it exchanged for a single dollar federal reserve note. It is still legal currency.
When these were being mass produced, you could have taken the note to the bank to have it exchanged for one dollar's worth of silver. Unfortunately, this is no longer true.
This note would be worth much more to a collector, I suggest you get it appraised at a collectors convention or something of the sort. |

The 1935 series B is has a value of $1.95 in grade very good, $2.30 in grade fine, $2.70 in very fine, and $3 in Extra fine. Even in crisp Uncirculated it's vale is only $12. One must remember currency is not like coins, the date on currency is not the year it was printed but the year the design came out, or the year the signatures changed. It is an interesting piece of the past when money actually had value. Hold on to it for the only place the value can go is up. Please ask this type of question in the hobbies section for you may get better answers. |
