Sugar Magnolia Says GO CHIEFS!

The best thing you are doing is saving that $20 every week. In a few years you will be thankful you did! It sucks to have to live without stuff, but as long as you have your basic needs met, you will be fine. Buy the cheapest food you can, like mac n cheese, ramen noodles, stuff for grilled cheese, canned soups etc. |

this is the life of the common person. it sucks. especially when youre eatin white rice.....with nothing else. you come up with some pretty interesting ideas for food. bottom line. dont settle for less. get all you can. if you can get a job that pays more, get it. hey, if you have to hustle, than do it. whatever you have to do to survive. im in the same boat and somtimes desperate times call for desperate measures. maybe your sitch isnt that bad but prepare for the worst. look at is this way, in the end, youll be a very strong person. |

Sounds like you have it "MADE". $50/week is great. If I were you, I'd accept my sister's offer and try not to spend so much on food. You don't HAVE to save $20/week for savings - if it gets tough, take some money out of your savings. |

Work a second job at night. This serves two purposes:
(1) It gives you a little more to work with and
(2) You are too busy and / or tired to go out and blow money on things you can't afford like partying and drinking.
As the guy above me said, welcome to the real world. |

start by getting rid of the phone, negotiate lower rent with your sister and help her in other ways, look for a better job after hours, work hard at your new job and don't be afraid to ask for a raise after 90 days. |

After all that you will have $460 left over for food. For just you I'm guessing it will cost $200 for food so that leaves $260. You will have a little extra spending money. |

Just get started, work hard, don't complain, improve your skills, read and educate yourself so to become more valuable. Very quickly you will begin to get raises or other job opportunities. We all have to start somewhere. Be thankful to your sister for such an inexpensive place to live. |

Take the job temporarily if nothing else comes up and look for a better job. Look into a sales job or going to vocational school. Minimum wage sucks. Been there done that. |

Get a temporary second job save the money from your second job for emergencies and you can keep on finding secondary temporary jobs just to have extra cash in case you need it. |

You have $460 a month left over ... many live on way less...
if you cook from scratch, (rather than fast food) you can save on food bills as well.... shop at thrift stores for clothes... also saves bundles... have a side job for extra income if you run thin...... also take this opportunity to take evening classes...the future is yours...
back to the food... the cheapest and healthiest food are still fruits and vegetables.... "do not" try saving money by eating poorly, and sacrificing your health...... |

Well you should have over $400 per month to spend.
Eat light.
This is why you should get an education, so you will make more than minimum wage. |

Don't forget A LOT of your money will go straight to the government. I also thought I'd be earning 200+ with minimum wage as cashier but I'm lucky enough to earn 130 with all my cash going to taxes =( |

You might have some left over. Figure you make $200 - give your sis $70, that leaves you with $130. |
