A: Agents are, essentially people who get you work and in some cases, manage your career.
Q: "How do they help you?"

A: You must first be talented. Simply search for agencies in your surrounding area, then call and ask if they are accepting new clients. You'll need headshots. You'll also have to interview and audition. They will notify you if they choose to accept you as a client and you will sign some sort of exclusivity contract with them.

A: You will not be able to sign with an agent without parent consent. You will not, also, be able to audition for, or actually act (outside of school) legally without a parent, legal guardian, or parent assigned guardian with you.
Q: "Hwo can I become an actress?"
A: With hard work, dedication, time, and perseverance. At your age, I suggest you audition for any local plays/musicals that come your way. Try community theater, as well as after school programs. familiarize yourself with other artistic mediums like dance or music. If you have a high school of the arts near you, inquire as to their auditioning process and take the time you have now to prepare. Unless you have parents who are completely committed to your dramatic goals, you most likely won't be the next child star. Also, learn to accept criticism, as you will encounter and endure a lot of it. A thick skin comes in really handy.

A: Headshots are professional photographs of you which you will use in a portfolio, which is something like a resume. You will also list in your portfolio, any acting experience, classes, or lessons you may have received. Your headshots will be your calling card and are generally expensive when done properly.

yeah you can't get an agent to work with you at 13 without parental support. you wouldn't be able to get cast or even make auditions without the soccer van... the agent gets you the auditions based on what directors are looking for. headshots are pictures of your face. shoulders and above basicly. if you want to become an actress, get on the stage first. do a play or two outside of school. get your picture in the news paper. that's a great starting point. if you are good enough, agents will come after you. now go to bed it's late. |

13 isnt too young for agents (for rich people) that is. for us filthy low class, getting an agent is rare especially if u dont tell ur parents. but if you want to get an agent to help you on ur acting career, y not tell ur parents? go to hollywood baby. that's where i live in bev. hills and i havnt seen one star yet! that craaazy. sign up for shows, plays, or w/e |

A head shot is a photo of your face. I am 13 and I have an agent. You can have an agent when you are 2 years old (your parents would have to do it for you). Agents will cost money. My agent is ITM (International Talent Managment) and I have a profile on Ecaster.com where directors and producers can look at my profile and call me up and ask me to audition for something or go to an actin-workshop. Go onto ecaster.com My agent cost $200 a year to be with them and I have gone to many, many, many auditions and workshops.
If you are under 18, you need a parents permission and you always need to go and meet the people incharge of the agency. Your mum/ dad will also need to sign a form. |

agents are the people that basically sell you to other companys. they help you find work. they set up meetings etc.
they are probably pretty expensive.
you CAN'T do anything without a parent for another 5 years .
talk to your parents about going to a school to better your career. they will help you alot more than the people on here.
head shots are pictures of your face. you hand them out to potentially jobs.
research acting classes in your area.
it doesnt happen in one day and you can't do it alone.
you need to build things up on your resume. take classes. search for open auditions. try a local theater. or if you have a drama club at school try that. |

Yes you need your parents permisssion. Please be careful there are a lot of sick people in this world. Now to help you out and answer your questions, Agents are people who get you booked to do an event. Such as modeling or as you said to play a roll in a movie as an actress ect. Before you can get there you have to have profile shots. Such as No Make Up Reg. Dressed and from chest up then each side shot. Forward them to photo agency's most charge a fee.
