With my paypal account I have to manually transfer the money to my bank account. It costs a coupla quid (i think) if it's less than £50, but any more than £50 transfered from paypal to your personal bank in one go is free.
There is NO NEED for her to wait for payment to clear!
That's my take on the matter anyway, whenever I sold stuff the payment has gone into my paypal account instantly. |

Maybe she doesn't know that she has to log in and agree the transfer of funds to her account...mail her. |

I have done instant bank transfers and it take 2 days for the money to be removed from my account, and if I use a credit card it can take longer. Is she new to ebay? If it is showing in her paypal account then the money is there. Hope it all works out. |

No payment is instantaneous. Even paying cash into your own bank account takes a few days to clear!
Paypal works through your card provider (e.g. your bank) pays paypal. paypal then pays the person you are paying. The money then has to be transferred from paypal to her bank account. At both stages you have to wait for the money to clear, and so the seller hasn't actually got the money in her bank account until a few days after you pay.
It's unlikely that the money won't get into her bank account eventually, but I think it is possible (e.g. you could be someone using a stolen card, and the card and all payments get cancelled), and so she wants to make sure she gets her money before parting with the goods. |

i sell alot on eBay, occasionally it takes a while for payment to clear through pay pal because the buyer is transferring money from bank account to pay pal. which takes 3-4 days. is this what is happening to you? |

it is instant into her pay-pal account.,and only gets transferred to her bank account if she instructs pay pal to do it.but it is her money and she should send the phone instantly, once you get the phone and she has left feed back put it in your feedback for her that she did this. |

Once you make the payment, PayPal should have it in the sellers account right away. Unless the account PayPal is linked to is having a problem. As long as you have funds, it should be there right away.
Did you contact the seller yet? Contact the seller and ask what the hold up is. |

Right on all points. I've never run across this problem on paypal......have run across it with some sellers though. I would contact paypal. They can contact her and explain the rules. I might also contact E-Bay about the seller. They don't like problems like this.
Good Luck |

some people are under the impression that you can take the money back after you have recieved the goods. You cannot |

I have never heard of that either. I am addicted to Ebay, even more so than here and the people I buy from always send me thank-yous for my prompt payments. I have never, ever had one do what your seller is doing. Possibly you could contact pay-pal and see what they say? |

It actually takes between 5 and 7 days for the funds to clear, even after they are deposited into your pay-pal account.
I was caught out this week, when my £165 from a seller was taken back from my pay pal account on the same day, as the buyer (or so called!), has some kind of scam going. She retracted the payment, and the goods were posted off!
So although you want your phone, and the money may have been taken from your paypal account, it is in fact just "pending" for 5-7 days.
However, papyal don't tell you this, and I wish I had known this before I posted my goods and got scammed.
I am sure you will get your phone, but I would be more aware of paypal. |

Is it the first time you've used paypal? I remember it took a while for my account to be "verified" the first time I used it. Maybe the seller is using paypal for the first time.
You can ask a question in paypal customer service area if you want to know more. |
