No, if someone calls my house they need to confirm who THEY are; I know who I am & it's only polite to identify yourself when calling. |

That irritates me too!
They ring and ask for DOB, name, address, shoe size you name it!
I always say "No I'm not answering your security questions, I don't know who you are"
To which they reply well can you call us back and then give me a phone number that costs about a £1.00 a minute!
I just again say no if I want to talk to you I'll call you! |

i never give details to anyone who rings me. ever. a someone claiming to be from my mobile phone company did it once and i just said that i wouldn't give out any details over the phone hung up and rang the company on the number on my bills. they had no record of them ringing me ever so i would have potentially been talking to someone trying to steal my identity. always hang up and ring the company by the correct number you have from statements etc and check if they have phoned you. |

I only speak to them if I've rung them myself, I don't take unsolicited calls. |

No. Infact we are having a a bit of an arguement with our bank about it at the moment.
Any person could ring up and pretend to be a bank and ask you for personal info, so we refuse. We will only deal online and with a proper branch.
They (the call centre) still keep calling all the time, even though we have been taken off the list by our local branch and ticked all the relevant boxes saying NO CALLS.
The call centre say they can only take us off their list once we have given them our personal details!
Grrrr this is one of my pet hates at the moment and I could rant for ages on the subject!!
PS We check the numbers they call from and they are legitimate bank numbers... |

If they call you, do not give them any information. THese are most likely scams.
If you call them on a number from your bill, it usually safe to give them some information to confirnm that you are really you. |

Most companies will ask for you security pin and certain numbers or letters of it they will rarely ever ask for you full name address post code and pin just be careful of scammers if the phone call doesnt seem right be cautious |

If they call me, unless I know for sure who I am talking to, I will give no information. If necessary I will tell then I will cal back to a number I know is theirs and then I will give the necessary information.
I do the same on the Internet.. I use the address I know is theirs, not one sent to me by e-mail. |

Beware of scammers. They are pretty crafty. Never give out any personal information over the phone until you are 100% certain of their true identities. Once you are certain, be sure you are using a land line phone, not a cell phone or cordless phone. Cells and cordless phones use radio waves to transmit and can be inadvertently picked up by anyone. Land line phone cannot, b/c they use wires. I suggest letting them go to your answering machine instead. And make a payment ASAP to the card company. |

If they are calling me then I would never give a thing I would say sorry but I am busy I will contact the person who is responsible for my account.
If I was calling then that is something else and never give your password and the security code on your card .. |

You have made a great point, I think it is a cheek when they call you and then ask you security questions. Most of the time they are genuine calls, but they cannot prove who they are. It is time they worked this out. |

Be wise please don't. Many thing talk over the phone are not secret. The people u talk to may not be real. I mean they may be 419ners. So be careful. |

I wouldn't give out my details unless I had asked them to call me and arranged a time because it really could be anybody. I much prefer to call them. |

Absolutely right. I ask THEM to prove who they are to protect MY security. Identity theft is real, be careful with YOUR personal information. |
