Spend the day tomorrow going through all the storage areas around your home, i.e., garage, closets, sheds, etc.
Snag anything that is no longer used regularly and is in good condition.
Clean and "Fluff" the stuff, [make it look as good as possible], then stick on price tags, and make posters.
Go online to Craig's List and place an advertisement to the effect that you're having a garage sale.
Saturday morning, tack the posters up all over your neighborhood.
You may be surprised at how much money you can realize in such a venture. It's absolutely amazing how much "stuff" we accumulate around the house, and even more amazing how people visiting garage sales view your "stuff" as their "treasure".
Don't forget to go through the kitchen cabinets and find any un-needed pots, pans, dishes, silverware and utensils.
Don't forget to go through all your CD's, books, VCR tapes, etc.
When I go through the process above, I set myself a "standard" and stick to it. For example, I will frequently make the standard "anything and everything I haven't used in at least a year.
Seriously consider anything you have used only once or twice in the last year".
Then, STICK TO YOUR STANDARD! Good luck, I hope you make the money you need. |
