HI Having a safe password is very very tough because nothing is secure in Internet. Even yahoo,google can be hacked but they have security mechanisms to resuce the hacking activity.
For a strong password plese follow some basic steps
have a password not less than 8 characters
have a combination of alpha numerics and special characters
Avoid a password which is in dictionary( a lost of passwords commonly used like india)
Have a combination of characters. Good password is "I#d6*FbcGJd
Don't use typing characters(qwerty in row)
By using the above basic principles you can reduce the possibility of hacking

go to your email options

You change your password by going to the top of your email page and clicking my account. Once that comes up you click on change my password. Then you can change it to anything you want. If you want to protect from intrudes than make it kinda confusing but easy enough for you to remember.
