there is a small charge for postal orders I sent one for £30.00 a few weeks ago and it cost me in total about 32.50, but the postal order itself states £30.00, you are paying a handling charge to the post office. |

yeah you do pay, i think its £1 in every £10, unless its gone up in the last month, they come like a cheque now and shud ask you if u want it 'crossed' - this WILL turn it into a cheque that the reciever has to put in his bank BUT uncrossed he can take strait to his post office and cash. hope this helps. |

If I remember correctly, they are about $1.35. Pretty cheap. Make sure you use Delivery Confirmation when you send it so they can't say they didn't get it. You'll have to make the envelope 1/4 of an inch thick to qualify to use DC. Wrap it in bubble wrap for added thickness. |

I don't think you pay extra these days, just how much you want the p/o for, |

A postal order costs are exact amount you want. If you want one that costs for example £18.99 that is what you pay - the pence are made up of postage stamps. You can ONLY get them from Post Offices and NO WHERE else. |
