hey stacey... by any chance that you're from tcsj, malaysia?
anywaz, i started to think about MNCs but since the home country too has the power to invite or not invite the MNCs, it is within the country's control. Yet, can we say that the UDCs need the improvement in technology, jobs (or to reduce unemployment) thus, they are forced to invite MNCs even if they don't like it?
the factors that are beyond the control can be more like due to weather? natural disaster? and, IMO, the most important factor is the vicious poverty cycle. the cycle just goes on and on, so much so that the entire nation's economy spins out of control. Plus, it's not like they're just a buncha sitting ducks waiting for ppl to save. IMF and world bank prefer helping those who will actually have the ability to pay back the debts. Yea, grants are given, but only to a few countries...
so if u have any other points that u would like to discuss about regarding this topic, feel free to enlighten me~ |

It's easier to talk than to act on poverty and inequality because the sacrifice in the name of humanity and brotherly love may affect the re-election polls.
A comprehensive free trade agreement which gives poorer countries an equal footing, especially in agriculture, is a vote-loser in the States and the EU.

Stacey the problem is corruption in law n politics of poor countries. Their whole government system (if any) is corrupt. Rich get richer n poor get poorer. Lot of exploitation aswell |
