They can look your purchase up in their computer system, especially with your bank statement. If they refuse than have them bring a manager up to the counter. I used to work there and I know that this is possible. If for some reason they still cannot find your purchase than they will give you store credit at least. They will take down your license number but that is only to ensure that you aren't returning things without a receipt over and over again (hence stealing and returning for money). Even with them taking down your information you still have a maximum of three times per year that you can return goods with no receipt. Good luck! |

Here's a little known fact...
YOU CAN GET A DUPLICATE RECEIPT!!!! I'm not sure what the time limit is... 30 days, 90 days? Go to Customer Service desk and show them your bank statement with the transaction information. The more information you can provide Wal-Mart (Date, TIME of day, cash/credit/check payment, amount) they can trace the receipt and print a duplicate copy.

My son in law is a manager at walmart and we return stuff all the time. usually if you don't have a receipt and you want cash back, they take your ID number. They allow you 3 returns without a receipt a year on your id number for cash back. After 3 they will require a receipt for cash back or they will give you a walmart gift card that can be used at Walmart or Sams Club or at the Gas station they have. When you go tomorrow, just tell them that you don't have the receipt and want to make a return, tell them you would like to get cash back......it's very possible that they will give it to you...if not, then take the gift card and get some stuff you need for the house....laundry soap...a new night gown...lol....:) |

I'm not sure about the photo department but w/o a receipt at Walmart you can be refunded but just that one time. Then you can't not have a receipt for the next 6 months. |

They will scan the UPC and see if it is in their system. If it is, you may be able to get store credit. You will not be able to get cash back though without a receipt. |

I work at wal-mart
I'm not sure about all wal-marts but most now have a en-change only policy without the receipt.
Call walmart and ask to speak to a manger or customer service and see what they say. |

Yeah, they'll just give you store credit, I believe. Some places can look stuff up if you paid with a credit or debit card (like Target), but I don't think Walmart can do that... you should ask, though. |

I've never had any problems returning anything to Walmart with or without a reciept...but i don't know if you purchased pictures if theres anything you can do about that...they let you check out the proofs and you pick which ones you want, do they not? |

For most things Walmart is really good about refunds.
If I remember right, if you return something without a receipt you have to fill in some extra paperwork. They do that to protect themselves against people who are returning stuff fraudulently. If you do this over and over then they will finally put a stop to it... I don't know what their limits are.
I'm not sure about the Portrait Studio, it depends on what you are returning.
I know Sam's Club is amazing about returns... as is Harbor Freight of all places :)
Your best bet is to go in with a good attitude. If you start pleasant, you have a much better shot of the person cooperating with you all they can.
They have probably had to be more careful lately... I live in Arizona and the local Walmart and KMart used to have people drive down here in the fall and then return the snow chains they bought way up north... after using them for the trip... very tacky! And very expensive for the store.
